Spring: Flag Football (2nd-5th)

American Football
Learning Football is all about the fundamentals, strategies, and skills required to play the game. Lessons are often tailored to the individual or group's skill level, whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Here are the typical components of these lessons:

Introduction to the Game: This is especially for beginners where they are taught the basic rules and objectives of the game.
Physical Conditioning: Football is a physically demanding sport, and players need to be in excellent shape. Conditioning drills often include strength training, agility drills, speed work, endurance training, and more.
Position-Specific Skills: Depending on the player's position (quarterback, wide receiver, linebacker, etc.), they will learn specific skills. Quarterbacks will learn how to pass effectively, wide receivers will practice catching, and linemen will learn blocking techniques, for example.
Tactics and Strategies: Players will learn offensive and defensive strategies. This can include learning how to read the opposing team's formations, executing plays, and more.
Teamwork and Communication: Football requires a high level of cooperation and coordination. Lessons often include drills and exercises that promote teamwork and effective communication on the field.
Through these lessons, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the game, and if consistently practiced, they can substantially improve their performance on the field.
